To register for Active Practice with CPM, you must complete these tasks
TASK 1. CONTACT CPM
Contact the College of Physiotherapists of Manitoba (CPM) for current registration requirements.

At this time, CPM will:
- Direct you to where you can obtain the registration form on the website.
- Inform you of the cost of your registration fee. The annual fee is $913.00 (2026). CPM will base your fee on your date of registration (fee will be prorated after August 1).
- Inform you of the cost of the initial or re-registration fee.
TASK 2. MEMBERSHIP IN GOOD STANDING FORM
Submit a Regulatory History/Membership In Good Standing Form from the last two regulatory bodies in which you were registered. This document should come directly to CPM by email from the issuing regulatory body.
TASK 3. CRIMINAL RECORD CHECK (CRC) WITH VULNERABLE SECTOR
Submit a clear copy of the criminal record check document with your registration package. The CRC must be no older than 6 months from the date of issue.
TASK 4. PROOF OF EMPLOYMENT AND LIABILITY INSURANCE*
Submit with your package, your letter of employment as well as proof of insurance, whether it is provided by your employer or you carry personal liability insurance. *Proof of employment must be submitted within three months of initial registration (or re-registration) with CPM if you are registering with CPM under Labour Mobility.
TASK 5: PROOF OF PRACTICE HOURS*
CPM requires that all Active physiotherapists have completed 1200 practice hours within the last 5 consecutive years. The College requires documentation from your previous employer(s) confirming your hours broken down per year. *A Request for Verification of Practice Hours 2026 form, will be requested prior to the first registration renewal after initial registration (or re-registration) with CPM if you are registering under Labour Mobility.
TASK 6. SUBMITTING YOUR DOCUMENTS

TASK 7. REGISTRATION FEE
Payment is required once all registration documents have been received and your registration has been processed. CPM admin staff will contact you with payment instructions.
Payment options:
- Credit card (online payment through Member Portal)
- E-Transfer to info@manitobaphysio.com
CPM will take up to 5-7 business days to process your application. CPM will send you the following by email:
- Confirmation that your Active Practice registration has been processed and instructions for payment of registration fees.
- Once fee payment is complete, confirmation that your Active Practice registration and instructions for printing your Certificate of Registration and Receipt for registration fees.
Your registration expires in January of every year. In December, CPM will send you information to remind you that you must renew your registration. The email will include the renewal deadline, online renewal instructions, and registration fee information.
If you fail to complete your registration renewal:
- You will no longer be registered with CPM
- You can no longer legally practice physiotherapy in Manitoba
- CPM will notify your employer
