Active Practice – Transfer from Inactive

To register for Active Practice from the In-Active Practice Register with CPM, you must complete these tasks:

Contact the College of Physiotherapists of Manitoba (CPM) for current registration requirements.

Registration inquiries: registration@manitobaphysio.com or 204-287-5202.

Complete the Registration Form (PDF) to apply for registration as an Active Registrant.

CPM requires that all  physiotherapists have completed 1200 practice hours within the last 5 consecutive years.  The College requires documentation from your previous employer(s) confirming your hours broken down per year.

  • Please have your employer complete the Request for Verification of Practice Hours 2026 form found under Registration Forms, Documents, etc. The applicant completes page 1 of the form and the employer completes page 2. The form should be submitted by email to CPM, directly from the employer.
  • If you work in Public Practice, please contact HR Shared Services to request completion of this form.

Submit with your package, a letter from your employer confirming your start date as well as proof of insurance.

  • If you work in Private Practice, please submit a copy of your professional liability insurance certificate with your letter of employment.
  • If you work in Public Practice, please have your employer confirm in your letter that you are covered by their liability insurance.

If you left the Province of Manitoba while on the In-Active Register, you must complete the following two tasks. If you did not leave the province while on the In-Active Register, proceed to task 7.

Submit a Membership in Good Standing Form from the last two regulatory bodies in which you were registered. This document should come directly to CPM by email from the issuing regulatory body.

Submit a clear copy of the criminal record check document with your registration package.  The CRC must be no older than 6 months from the date of issue.

Payment is required once all registration documents have been received and your registration has been processed. CPM admin staff will contact you with payment instructions.

CPM will take up to 5-7 business days to process your application. CPM will send you the following by email:

  • Confirmation that your Active Practice registration has been processed and instructions for payment of registration fees.
  • Once fee payment is complete, confirmation that your Active Practice registration and instructions for printing your Certificate of Registration and Receipt for registration fees.
