Important Updates and Resources for Physiotherapists
Hello Manitoba Registrants,
We want to bring to your attention the latest information from the College, effective June 5, 2025.
- Registration Page Updates
The College updated the Registration section of the website to provide updated information on the transition to the new national examination in 2026. Internationally educated physiotherapists and new Canadian graduates will now see two options when looking up registration requirements with CPM. The current process in place with successful completion of the written examination and the changes to the registration process for 2026. Information on the change to the single examination is available for all registrants to review under the tab Changes to Registration Examination Requirement in 2026 .
- New EDI Resources
There are new EDI resources available to registrants in the For Physiotherapists section of the website under the new tab Equity Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) .
- New Webpage Available: Transitioning under the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA)
As outlined in the May newsletter, the College wanted to commit to providing information to registrants to prepare for the pending change in legislation from the Physiotherapists Act to the Regulated Health Professions Act. The College has developed a new tab on the web page under the “For Physiotherapists” header called “Transitioning under the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA)”. This page is now available and contains information on Reserved Acts, defines the rostering process for certain Reserved Acts and other general information on changes to licensure with the College under the RHPA. The page will be updated as more information is known. Currently, the College does not have a timeline for this transition, but we will communicate with registrants once the government is ready to move forward with our transition under the RHPA.
- Questions from Private Physiotherapists for the Lunch and Learn in September 2025
As outlined in the May 2025 newsletter, the College is asking for private practice physiotherapists to submit any questions they may have regarding the programs at the College (Complaints, Continuing Competency Program, Practice Based Competency Assessment/Supervision). The College will be providing a Lunch and Learn session specific to private practitioners in the early Fall.
Any questions or topics received will be addressed at this Lunch and Learn session. Please watch for an email in early August to register. Please submit any questions or topics to admin@manitobaphysio.com on or before June 30, 2025.
